Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Events

Battlefield Walks - August 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, & 30
Learn more about the fascinating history of Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park.
This one hour walk is an easy, leisurely pace and incredibly informative. The narrator of this tour will share information about the Battle of Blue Licks and the Revolutionary War. The Battlefield Walk begins promptly at 1pm and is free to all park visitors. The walk begins and ends at the Pioneer Museum. There is a nominal fee to tour the museum which houses Revolutionary War memorabilia as well as Fossils, Mastodon bones, Native American and Pioneer artifacts, and more. Summer Canoe Trips - August 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, & 30
Enjoy a 2 ½ hour leisurely paced canoe trip down the Licking River.
This trip is guided by our recreation staff and so it is perfect for beginners and all experience levels. Cost is $10 per person and space is limited. Trips are dependent upon water conditions and weather.
Reservations with pre-payment will only be accepted 7 days prior to the trip date. Your safety is always our top priority. Children under the age of 16 require approval from our Park Naturalist. All participants will register at the Pioneer Museum before to 9am and meet in the Pioneer Museum parking lot at 9:15am so that the Canoe Trip can begin at 9:30am.
The park can provide transportation from the museum parking lot to the boat launch area. Call 800-443-7008 for more information.

Labor Day Weekend Activities - August 29 - September 1
Live music and entertainment, children's activities, canoe trips, museum tours and battlefield walks. Join us as the summer season comes to a close with special activities throughout the weekend.

August 29 - September 1 Labor Day Weekend Activities
Live music and entertainment, children's activities, canoe trips, museum tours and battlefield walks. Join us as the summer season comes to a close with special activities throughout the weekend.

-August 30 - Great American Hamburger & Hot Dog Buffet
at Hidden Waters Restaurant  All your classic favorite grilled foods and desserts. Old fashioned hand made hamburger patties chargrilled to perfection. Jumbo franks stuffed with cheddar cheese and wrapped in bacon. A summer salad bar with cottage cheese, watermelon, potato salad, and more. Jumbo dogs and burgers served along sides of baked beans, fried kraut, spicy chili, potato wedges, and an assortment of toppings. Homemade cobblers with ice cream, lemonade, sweet tea, ice tea, and sodas included.
All you can eat buffet from 11:30am-9pm for $14.95 + tax (includes beverage).

August 30 -  Labor Day Weekend Blood Drive
The Central Kentucky Blood Center Blood Mobile will be just outside the Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park Museum and all Blood Donors will receive 2 complimentary passes for the Pioneer Museum, and be registered to win door prizes. Donate blood between 11am & 4pm.

August 31 - Free Salsa Tasting with the Chipotle Chicks
Sheila DeSimio and Kathy Yelton are the Chipotle Chicks. These ladies will be at our Spring Extravaganza with free samples of their delicious Ky Proud Products. You must try their salsa! Of course, you won't want to miss the chance to buy their Kentucky Chipotle Sauce, Hot Flash Habanera, Hot Pepper Jelly, etc. Add a little spice to your life!

September 5 - First Friday Seafood Buffet
Join us the first Friday of every month when we serve an all you can eat seafood buffet for $19.95 + tax + beverage at Hidden Waters Restaurant.
Seafood Buffet is served from 4pm-close.

September 5 - Free Fudge Tasting
Sorrell's County Mill is a local business located in Mayslick, KY. They produce such sweet fudge flavors as Coconut Crème, Cherry Jubilee Vanilla, Chewy Vanilla Praline, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and more. You have to sample their line of fudge. It is awesome!

September 13 - Overnight Canoe Trip
An all-inclusive 23-mile excursion on the Licking River. Park will supply canoe's, Life jackets, transportation for 12, tents, sleeping bags, bed rolls, snacks, evening meal, and breakfast all for just $69.95. 14 miles on first day and will return the next day to park by 1:00 pm. Reservation Required.

September 20 - Short's Goldenrod Festival
The Short's Goldenrod Festival is a celebration of one of the rarest plants in the world! All day events include nature hikes, canoe trips, free workshops, farmers market, local crafts, food, live music, children's activities, storytelling and more! This event is sponsored by the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission and Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park.

September 21 - Robertson County Farm Bureau Car Show
Music provided by a DJ along with food vendors. Top 60 scores with prizes awarded at the end of the day. Contact Keith or Jeanne Ellis @ 606-724-5247 for more information about the car show.

September 27  - National Public Lands Day
National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. Volunteers have built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants. Join us for the 15th annual National Public Lands Day at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park. We are seeking volunteers for September 27th (and various other dates throughout the year) to assist in keeping our park beautiful by working on an 18th Century Trading Fort.
Volunteers will be picking up litter around Tanner Station and various park trails, planting trees, and helping with other Tanner Station upkeep, such as chinking the walls of the fort. Interested volunteers (individual and/or organizations) must register in advance by calling Paul Tierney at 800-443-7008.

September 27 - Pig Pickin' at Hidden Waters Restaurant
Join Chef Horace Moore and his team for a down home pig roast with all the good country fixin's. This all you can eat buffet will feature a mouth watering slow roasted whole pig, fried shoepeg corn, hot slaw, fried apple pies with vanilla ice cream, watermelon, crisp summer salad bar and more! Refreshing beverages include bottomless glasses of ice tea, sweet tea, lemonade, coffee, and soda.
Buffet served 11:30am - 9pm for $14.95 + tax (price includes beverage).
