Wine Walk
Celebrate American Heart Month with the 6th Annual Newport on the Levee Wine Walk on Wednesday, February 8, 6pm-9pm. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Heart Association. New in 2012, members of the young professional, non-profit organization, LEGACY of Northern Kentucky, will serve as event hosts and will help guide Wine Walk participants as they travel from venue to venue. Wine Walk attendees will visit various Levee venues to sample wine selections and heart healthy hors d’oeuvre tastes. Wine Walk venues include: Bar Louie, BRIO Tuscan Grille, Claddagh Irish Pub, GameWorks, Jefferson Hall, Mitchell’s Fish Market, Star Lanes on the Levee, and StoneBrook Winery inside Art on the Levee. Wine lovers are also encouraged to wear red at the event to show their support of the American Heart Association and American Heart Month. “Our Rivers’ Fury: Past and Present Ohio Valley Floods” Opening Event
At 6pm, noted historian Rick Bell, author of The Great Flood of 1937 - Rising Waters, Soaring Spirits will give fascinating presentation. Mr. Bell’s work was the first book-length study of this major natural disaster since 1937. Looking at images and community reactions, he paints a vivid picture of the harrowing days in the winter of 1937 when the Ohio River flooded along its entire length and reached its highest level ever in Greater Cincinnati, officially recorded at 79.9 feet. The event is free for museum members and $5 for future museum members.

16th Annual 96Rock MainStrasse Village Mardi Gras
Get out your beads, it's time to party "New Orleans-style" in MainStrasse Village!
8pm until 1am in the Entertainment Tent. And then continue the party in the MainStrasse Bars! Begin your Mardi Gras Celebration in our huge MainStrasse Village Entertainment Tent or your favorite MainStrasse Village Business.  Entertainment Tent with live music and Cajun Food by Shiska Haus opens at 8 p.m.  Music by THE WEBSTERS begins following the parade both nights. BIG HEAD PARADE on Friday and GRANDE PARADE on Saturday begin at 8:00 p.m. and will travel down Main Street. Our Rivers’ Fury: Past and Present Ohio Valley Floods
Get swept away into Behringer-Crawford Museum’s latest exhibit, “Our Rivers’ Fury: Past and Present Ohio Valley Floods.” Taking a special look at the regional floods that occured in 1884, 1913, 1937 and 1997, this exhibit explores how these floods changed forever the Ohio River Valley. The rising waters altered lives and left lasting marks in the community. In addition, the exhibit discusses why floods occur, aspects of flood prevention, the important roles levees play in our everyday lives and provides multi-sensory experiences through interactive components and documentaries produced by WKRC/Local 12 personality and celebrated local historian Dan Hurley.
Visitors will have the opportunity to become part of the Ohio Valley Flood history by sharing their personal stories about the floods that ravaged our region in 1937 and 1997. If you have a story or experience you would like to share, contact BCM for scheduled dates and times.
This exhibit will open for museum members and future members at 6 p.m February 17 with a presentation by noted historian Rick Bell, author of The Great Flood of 1937 - Rising Waters, Soaring Spirits. He will discuss the book’s in-depth look at the 1937 flood and its effects on the community. Soak up the knowledge of our rivers’ power. The opening event is free to museum members and with a $5 charge for future museum members. Our Country's Good At NKU
A production of Northern Kentucky University Dept of Theatre and Dance. Australia is the perfect dumping ground for the worst British convicts in the 1780s, but with only a few guards to keep the unruly inmates in line, the Governor suggests a simple but bizarre solution to create order -- have the inmates put on a play. Much to the dismay of both the prison workers and the prisoners themselves, the play takes to the stage. A production of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) dept of theatre and dance. In this crazy musical comedy, Alan Swann, a washed up ex-movie idol, is finally getting his chance for a comeback! This time it won't be in movies, but instead it will be on the King Kaiser Comedy Hour, a television variety show! Unfortunately, his pensions for past bad habits of drinking and wooing women remain and comedy sketch writer Benjy Stone has been put to the task of keeping Swann out of trouble. Poor Benjy has no idea that this task will put him into the craziest of situations that could cost both of them their careers. Two time Tony Award winning musical.
